In Remembrance: John K. Goodman ’42 Died on April 16 2018

John K. Goodman died on April 16, 2018, in Tucson, Arizona, at the age of 97. He served in the Army Air Force during World War II and then ranched in Arizona, owning ranches near Mammoth and Show Low until the 1970s. The horse was his great love, and he played polo most of his life and bred and raced thoroughbreds. He hunted in England and Ireland and was known to be a fearless horseman. He was a member of the Jockey Club.

His other great interest was Western art and he served on several boards of institutions which promoted this art. He was a director of the Tucson Museum of Art, the Friends of Western Art, and the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City, which inducted him into the Hall of Great Westerners in 2014. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, his son John, two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
